Radial-Shape2 Havahart® Wireless Extra Small Collar Kit Looking for an extra collar for a second small dog or just a backup collar? Our Radial-Shape2 Small Dog Wireless Collar Kit comes equipped with everything you need to add an extra collar to your Radial-Shape2 Wireless Pet Fence as well as some replacement parts in the event one of your collars is damaged. What is in the Small Dog Wireless Collar Replacement Kit? The Radial-Shape2 Small Dog Wireless Collar Replacement Kit contains an extra small size dog collar that fits neck sizes 10”to 17”, extra batteries, extra battery cap, and 25 additional training flags. How to name the collars to differentiate? During collar syncing, the Radial-Shape2 wireless pet fence allows you to name the collars. This allows you to understand which collar is for which dog. Need more information on the Custom-Shape and its collar? The collar of the Radial-Shape2 wireless dog fence contains advanced technology to communicate effectively and consistently with the fence controller and is water-resistant. The collar included with the Radial-Shape2 Wireless Collar Replacement Kit is an average size dog collar and is made from heavy-duty rubber buckle closure, and fits neck sizes 10” to 17”. The total weight of the collar tips the scales at a feathery 3.7 ounces. Need more information on the size of your dog’s neck? Use our quick reference guide here. Why is the collar water-resistant and what is the difference vs. waterproof? The collar of the Radial-Shape2 is water resistant, meaning it can handle splashes from puddles and the water bowl but cannot be submersed completely in water. Customize your correction: The Radial-Shape2 wireless dog fence allows you to customize the correction level so you can choose a correction that is suitable for the size, age, and temperament of your dog. There are 6 different settings including tone only and 5 static corrections. The default correction level is tone only. It is important that the collar not be worn on your dog longer than 12 consecutive hours. Still have more questions? What sets Havahart® Wireless apart from our competition is our dedication to service. Unlike leading competition, our dog fence experts are available 7 days a week. We know life is busy and the only chance you have to set up the fence and train your dog might be on the weekend. So we want to be available when you need us. [back to top]

The Science Behind Havahart Wireless, after years of testing and development, shakes the wireless dog fencing marketplace with groundbreaking technology. The Havahart Wireless electric dog fence is capable of outperforming any other wireless fence system on the market. When you want to provide your dog freedom and keep your pet safe, an electric fence from Havahart Wireless is the answer. Discover exactly how we keep your pet safe with our electric dog fence technology. Advanced Technology Makes it All Possible The Radial-Shape2 Havahart® Wireless Dog Fence is driven by nanoLOC TRX 2.4 GHz transceivers that have been enhanced with complex algorithms, strategic distortion filtering and modular signal amplification. These enhancements boost the performance of the Havahart Wireless Dog Fence systems over the competition by providing enhanced signal strength, smarter filtering cabailities and more reliable communication, delivering advanced time-of-flight-ranging technology. Havahart® Wireless dog fence systems use the Kalman Filter, the same data-filtering technique used by NASA. Through advanced analysis, Havahart Wireless systems are capable of rejecting the statistical anomalies that can result in a fuzzy boundary. This analysis, combined with the appropriate hardware and software, pushed the nanLOC transceiver to perform beyond its standard capabilities. This translates into a crisper boundary, giving the Havahart® Wireless electric fence systems the ability to maintain constant signal strength throughout the entire electric fence boundary. What truly sets the Havahart® Wireless electric fence system apart from the rest and defines how a wireless electric fence should really work, is its patented time-of-flight ranging technology.

Time-of-flight is the time it takes for a signal to travel from a the Controller to the Collar and back at the speed of light. By continually communicating to the Collar, the Controller is able to track the real-time distance to your dog. Based on the data that is continually captured, filtered and refined, the Controller will determine whether or not a correction should be delivered. Better yet, with motion sensor technology, if your dog isn’t moving while in the Roaming Area, the sampling rate becomes less frequent, saving battery life. These enhancements comprise the core of the patented elements that provide an unparalleled level of technical sophistication in the wireless dog fencing industry. [back to top]

Works great! Easy to setup and tailor the settings to my yard. My only complaint is that the collar is a buckle not a snap clip collar. This makes it harder to put on and take off.

We live in a neighborhood where almost every house has a dog or dogs. I do not have a wireless or invisible fence, but many of our neighbors do. I know that the invisible or wireless fences don't always work, because if a dog wants to chase a squirrel, cat, chipmunk or rabbit bad enough, that dog will take the shock through the barrier and once out of the wired area, the dog is out and down the block. Our one neighbor has 2 dogs with the underground wire and one dog always breaks the barrier while the other dog has never gone beyond the wire. The problem with invisible or wireless fences is that you never know if your dog will stay in the barrier or break out and keep going until you've spent the money to find out.
Our backyard is fenced for the dog and the front is not. I wanted this Havahart Wireless Fence for two reasons, to give the dog some play space in the unfenced front yard with me and to be able to go anywhere and keep the dog in a confined area. When I say to be able to go anywhere, I mean if we go camping, on picnics, visiting friends or leaving the dog with a relative. The beauty of a Wireless Fence, is NO wire- meaning you can take the controller, collar and your dog anywhere. The portability concept is wonderful- IF it works.
The set up of this Havahart Wireless Fence is unbelievably easy. You charge the batteries- they give you 2, but only one is in the collar. It's great to have the extra battery to quickly replace the one in the collar when it needs recharging. You set up the radius you want to contain your dog's space in, on the controller. You then place the controller on an outside wall in your home. Then measure the outside space and flag the perimeter- our front is 52 feet by 50 feet- you must measure in a circle- so we flagged 50 feet. The collar has an antenna wire inside the neckband, which tells you how many feet your dog is from the controller, whenever you want to check- we found this to be a very helpful added feature.
We purchased another collar, as Havahart stated that 2 collars will work inside the perimeter of one controller, and decided to see if this works on 2 dogs- my neighbor's dog and ours. We are talking about a border collie and german shepherd- both highly intelligent dogs that love to learn new things and new games. The actual shock the dog gets from this Havahart Wireless collar, we tested against our neighbor's invisible fence collar. My neighbor's husband was the guinea pig. The invisible fence collar is an actual mild electric shock that gets stronger. This Havahart collar has one tone- with 5 correction levels. He said it was more of a buzzing, then became a sort of electric buzzing, then what he would call the shock, was about 20 times milder than the invisible fence shock. Our neighbor said this was too mild to work, but I was actually happy that the shock was mild.
Now comes the training and this is where I found out if this works for both dogs. A couple times each day, my neighbor and I just introduced the flagged area to the dogs with the collars set to tone only. We taught them to recognize the flags and the collar tone mean stop. This took 5 days. We then set the collars to low static correction- a kind of buzzing pulse that tells the dogs they are outside the flagged area. In the second week, we had to teach them to ignore all the wonderful things outside the flagged area and to stay inside when the collars buzzed. When you remove the flags (If you choose to- we found out some dogs need the visual and collar both) and have the dog focus on just the collar buzzing, this is where you need to spend some time with your dog, as it was a slower learning process with the border collie because she has a natural tendency to chase and round up everything that moves. The german shepherd was an easier train than the female border collie with her naturally free spirit. After 2 weeks, the german shepherd would move back with a low level buzzing type shock, but the border collie couldn't resist chasing a squirrel. We will spend more time on the border collie, but she is such a free spirit, I don't know how long it will take or if it will work at all.
As for our german shepherd, he was trained immediately and we took the controller to my brother's home, where we set it up with a 65 foot perimeter and he stayed inside that perimeter for the entire afternoon. The mildest buzzing stops him, so I found out it's all about the dog, training the dog and not about shocking the dog. This is a wonderful wireless fence and the best part is, that if your dog is easily trained, you can take the controller anywhere and contain your dog with nothing but a buzzing collar.

Radial Wireless Dog Fence Boundary Tips Placement of your Controller - The controller must be mounted inside the home on an exterior wall nearest the center of your desired circular containment areas.
- The controller should be located 3 feet away from and 3 feet above the signal limiting items listed HERE for the Interior and Exterior of your home in order to minimize the factors that can cause attenuation.
In some cases, placing the controller on a window might solve issues you might have with objects in the home causing attenuation by creating a direct line of sight to the problem area (the controller can see directly to the problem area). - Make sure the controller is located within 6 feet of a 120V AC outlet. This leaves enough room for the power cord.
- The controller must be installed indoors as they cannot be exposed to moisture (ie. rain or snow).
Obstacles that May Cause Severe Attenuation In order to ensure a successful set up, please look for the following objects in your home and on your property prior to set up: Interior of the home: Mirrors, microwaves, and home appliances. Exterior of the home: Aluminum siding, metal down spouting, electrical power meters, air conditioning units, metal garage doors, and stucco walls Property layout: Large bushes, trees, extensive landscaping, above-ground pools, sheds and metal screened porches. Once you have identified the following items, you can start planning your controller and fence boundary locations. The Radial-Shape2 Wireless Dog Fence is not for Every Property Although we would like to say that the Radial-Shape Havahart® Wireless Dog Fence will work on every property type or home construction, we unfortunately cannot. Even with our superior patented technology, there are instances when the successful operation of any wireless dog fence will be very limited and not meet your needs. Because your satisfaction is important to us, we want to make sure you are aware of these circumstances prior to making a purchase. Note: In some cases the obstacles on your property such as a heavily wooded lot or extensive landscaping might be so dense that the system will not provide you with a wireless dog fence boundary shape that satisfies your needs. In these particular cases, we would recommend our Underground Dog Fence, the Fence Free Pet Containment System Additional Help
Training your Dog Once your fence boundary has been set, training your dog is key to achieving your ultimate goal. Each dog learns differently. You will need to determine the appropriate speed for training and the collar correction level needed based on the size and temperament of your dog. - We recommend this system be used on dogs over 6 months old weighing over 8 pounds.
- Make sure the collar fits your dog appropriately. The collar fits dogs with neck sizes from 14 – 26 inches. Both short and long probes are included to help you provide a good fit.
- Begin training on the tone-only setting (default setting). You can adjust the correction level as necessary.
- Our training guidelines in the Instruction Manual encourage a full 12 – 15 days of training with your dog to ensure success.
Tips for the Wireless Collar & Batteries It takes less than 3 hours to charge a battery. - Always have an extra battery charged and ready to use.
- Make sure your dog is safely within the roaming area when placing the collar on your dog.
- Always remove the collar from your dog before adjusting any of the system components or settings.
- Make sure the collar fits snugly but not tightly, high on your dog’s neck with the probes facing upward and centered under your dog’s chin.
- It is highly recommended to take the collar off your dog when entering the home.
- To help prevent skin irritation and increase battery life, it is recommended that you never leave the collar on your dog for more than 12 consecutive hours at a time.

FAQs About the Havahart® Wireless Electric Dog Fence
Q: Will the wireless fence interfere with my computer, TV, cordless phone, cell phone or garage door opener if I place the Controller (of the Radial-Shape2 Wireless Dog Fence) or Bases (Custom-Shape Wireless Dog Fence) near them? A: No. The wireless fence works on a different frequency than those used by these electronic devices.. Q: What objects in my home and yard might cause problems or interfere with my Fence Boundary?
A: Objects that can interfere with your wireless fence include mirrors, microwaves, home appliances, electric power meters, air conditioning units, metal screened porches, metal downspouts, trees, large bushes and above-ground pools and sheds. These objects can affect the shape of the Trigger Zone and make it slightly different than desired. Placing the Custom-Shape Bases or Radial-Shape2 Controller at least 3 feet away from or above these objects should minimize any undesired effects. Objects that will cause considerable interference are aluminum siding, densely wooded lots and heavily landscaped properties. Q: If my dog manages to escape from his Roaming Area in my yard, will the Collar continue to correct my dog?
A: The Havahart® Wireless Collar will correct the dog for up to 30 seconds and then time out. The correction is delivered through a prescribed cycle so that it is not constant. Both systems will allow your dog to re-enter the Roaming Area without being corrected. Both systems will resume normal operation once your dog is safely inside the Roaming Area. Collar will correct the dog for up to 30 seconds through a prescribed cycle so that the correction is not constant. Q: How old should my dog be before I start training him with the fence? A: The Havahart® Wireless Dog Fences are designed for dogs older than 6 months and weighing more than 8 pounds with a neck size of 14 to 26 inches. [back to top]
