Enhanced Collar Design

Our comfortable water resistant Radial-Shape Havahart® Wireless Electric Dog Collar maximizes the safety and freedom of your dog. The new collar strap is made from heavy gauge nylon webbing that houses the Patented antennas and has a durable 3/4 inch snap buckle closure.  The collar fits dogs with neck sizes from 14-26 inches. 

The battery cap has been redesigned to be flush with the battery housing and requires a coin to open and tighten the cap, in order to secure the battery in place.  The total collar weight is 3.7oz.   This wireless fence system can accommodate up to 2 collars.  

The Havahart Wireless Collar has several Correction levels.  The Collar’s default setting is Tone Only (auditory correction) but can be programmed to one of 5 different static correction levels.  This allows you to pick the best one that fits your needs and your dog's temperament.  The Collar should not be on your dog for more than 12 consecutive hours.

Easy Set Up (Digital LCD)

The set-up time of your Havahart® Wireless Radial-Shape wireless fence should take approximately 1 hour.  The sleek, easy push button Controller and step by step Instruction Manual, Instructional DVD and Quick Set up Guide are included to help walk you through your installation.

Before placing your Controller in your home, identify any objects in your house or yard that could interfere with your signal strength.  (See Factors that Affect Signal Strength) Place your Controller in the center of the house on an external wall inside the home.

After installing the Controller in the proper position, digitally set the distance you would like for your Fence Boundary radius(between 40 ft & 400 ft.). 
 

With a fully charged battery is your Wireless Collar, listen for the Collar's tone as you walk toward the Wireless Trigger Zone to confirm its position. When you hear the tone, place training flags in the ground to mark the Wireless Fence Boundary location. Once you are satisfied with your Fence Boundary location, you are ready to fit the Collar to your dog and begin training.

 Portability

The small size of the Radial-Shape Wireless Controller allows you to easily take the system with you when you move or go on vacation.  Make sure to plug the Controller into a properly grounded 120V AC power outlet and reset your training flags. It is recommended to retrain your dog to be familiar with the new Roaming Area.

Safety Features

Havahart® Wireless created a wider Trigger Zone- 6 to 13 ft- to keep your dog safe and away from danger. 

The collar is designed with a Safety Time-Out feature that stops the correction cycle (a series of static pulses) after 30 seconds. After the correction cycle times out, your dog will not be corrected for returning to the Roaming Area.  Once your dog returns to the Roaming Area the Collar will revert to its normal operating mode and correction will occur if he again enters the Trigger Zone.
 
The system will alert you if your dog has breached the Fence Boundary or if your batteries are running low.

LIMITED WARRANTY TO ORIGINAL PURCHASER

Woodstream Corporation warrants its products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the warranty period from the purchase date. Activate your warranty online at www.havahartwireless.com or return the completed form included with your product.

All parts are covered under warranty for ten (10) years from the date of purchase by the original purchaser and labor is covered for a period of one year (and under no circumstances to exceed a period of 365 days) from the date of purchase by the original purchaser. Thereafter, a service charge may apply for the repair or replacement of the product. This warranty DOES NOT cover any accessories. This limited warranty begins on the original date of purchase, and is valid only on products purchased and used in the United States by the original purchaser. To receive warranty service, the purchaser must first contact Woodstream Corporation for problem determination and service procedures. Please have the product available when discussing your experience.

If Woodstream Corporation determines that this product needs to be returned, Woodstream Corporation will issue a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number. The defective unit or parts must be returned to Woodstream Corporation, or specified authorized agent, for warranty inspection with the RGA number labeled on the outside of the package within (10) days of return authorization date. Products returned without authorization will be refused.

Woodstream Corporation will repair or replace this product, at Woodstream Corporation’s option and at no charge as stipulated herein, with new or reconditioned parts or products if found to be defective during the limited warranty period specified above. All replaced parts and products become the property of Woodstream Corporation or authorized agent. Replacement parts and products assume the remaining original warranty, or ninety (90) days, whichever is longer.

Limitations and Exclusions:

This product is neither a physical barrier nor a substitute for traditional obedience training. Due to variances in canine personality, temperament, size, and age, as well as due to potential influences on your dog outside of Woodstream Corporation’s control, Woodstream does not guarantee or warrant the effectiveness of this product.

This limited warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship encountered in normal, noncommercial use of this product, and shall not apply to the following, including, but not limited to: damage which occurs in shipment; delivery and installation; applications and uses for which this product was not intended; altered product or serial numbers; cosmetic damage or exterior finish; accidents, abuse, neglect, fire, water, lightning or other acts of nature; use of products, equipment, systems, utilities, services, parts, supplies, accessories, applications, installations, repairs, external wiring or connectors not supplied or authorized by Woodstream Corporation which damage this product or result in service problems; incorrect electrical line voltage, fluctuations and surges; customer adjustments and failure to follow operating instructions, cleaning, maintenance and environmental instructions that are covered and prescribed in the instruction book.

  My dog has freedom November 29, 2011

I love this system. Anyone who has ever had labs will know that they are puppies FOREVER!!! Mine is no exception. I felt horrible tying her up because I was worried she would get out on the highway (about 1/4 mile away). She was a bit of a challenge to train as she was not well leash trained (my fault)and she thought the flags were chew toys. We needed to use a high correction level to get the message across. It did work though and I rarely hear the tone telling me she is "testing" her boundary. She has come to terms with her limitations and I feel so much better that she has the freedom to burn off that excess engery. Now all I have to worry about is what she is getting in to.

Purchased the wireless system, had reservations due to pricing and not a great experience with Pet Safe system in past. Much to our surprise, system was extremely easy to set up. One of our dogs was already trained, easily adapted to new collar. Had to train our new puppy, he did great! Had an issue with one collar, thought to myself, here we go again, but the customer service rep. was fantastic. Replaced collar for free, arrived within 5 business days. Then we had another issue with the charger, called customer service again and they sent out a whole new unit. Impressed, totally stand by their product. Noticed they changed battery compartment on collar, easier to use design. It has now been several months and we have had no issues. It is great for travel, small and easy to pack. Highly recommend.

Expert Tips on the Radial-Shape Havahart® Wireless Electric Dog Fence

Optimizing your Fence Boundary

In order to ensure a successful set up, please look for the following objects in your home and on your property prior to set up:

Interior of the Home:    Mirrors, microwaves, and home appliances.

Exterior of the Home:   Metal down spouting, electrical power
                                         meters, air conditioning units, metal roof or 
                                         metal garage doors, large shrubs that
                                         reside on the perimeter of your home.

Property Layout:          Large bushes, trees, extensive  
                                       landscaping, above-ground pools, sheds
                                       and metal screened porches.
   
Once you have identified the following items, you can start planning your Controller and Fence Boundary locations.

Placement of your Controller

• The Controller must be mounted inside the home on an exterior wall nearest the center of your desired circular containment areas. 

• The Controller should be located 3 feet away from and 3 feet above the signal limiting items listed above for the Interior and Exterior of your Home in order to minimize the factors that can cause attenuation. 

• In some cases, placing the Controller on a window might solve issues you might have with objects in the home causing attenuation by creating a direct line of sight to the problem area (the Controller can see directly to the problem area). 

• 

  Make sure the Controller is located within 6 feet of a 120V AC outlet. 

• The Controller must be installed indoors as they cannot be exposed to moisture (ie. rain or snow).

If there are Dense Objects located on your property

• Extend your Fence Boundary beyond these obstacles to accommodate for the dip.

• Reduce your Fence Boundary distance to pull your Fence Boundary in front of these obstacles to remove the dip.

Obstacles that May Cause Severe Attenuation

Home Construction:   Concrete Walls located on the first floor or
                                        Aluminum Siding

Property Types:         Densely Wooded Lots or Extensive
                                     Landscaping

Note:  In some cases the obstacles on your property such as a heavily wooded lot or extensive landscaping might be so dense that the system will not provide you with a Fence Boundary shape that satisfies your needs.  

Although we would like to say that the Radial-Shape Havahart® Wireless Electric Dog Fence will work on every property type or home construction, we unfortunately cannot.  Even with our superior patented technology, there are instances when the successful operation of any Wireless Fence will be very limited and not meet your needs.  Because your satisfaction is important to us, we want to make sure you are aware of these circumstances prior to making a purchase.     

FAQs About the Havahart® Wireless Electric Dog Fence

Q:    Will the wireless fence interfere with my computer, TV, cordless phone, cell
        phone or garage door opener if I place the Controller (of the Radial-Shape
        Wireless Dog Fence) or Bases (Custom-Shape Wireless Dog Fence) near
        them?

A:   No. The wireless fence works on a different frequency than those used by these
       electronic devices..

Q:   What objects in my home and yard might cause problems or interfere with my
       Fence Boundary?

A:  Objects that can interfere with your wireless fence  include mirrors, microwaves,
       home appliances, electric power meters, air conditioning units, metal screened
       porches, metal downspouts, trees, large bushes and above-ground pools and
       sheds.

      These objects can affect the shape of the Trigger Zone and make it slightly
      different than desired. Placing the Custom-Shape Bases or Radial-Shape
      Controller at least  3 feet away from or above these objects should minimize
      any undesired effects.

     Objects that will cause considerable interference are concrete walls, aluminum
     siding, metal roofs, densely wooded lots and heavily landscaped properties.

Q:   If my dog manages to escape from his Roaming Area in my yard, will the Collar
       continue to correct my dog?

A:   The Havahart® Wireless Collar will correct the dog for up to 30 seconds and then
        time out.  The correction is delivered through a prescribed cycle so that it is not
       constant.  Both systems will allow your dog to re-enter the Roaming Area without
       being corrected. Both systems will resume normal operation once your dog is
       safely inside the Roaming Area. Collar will correct the dog for up to 30 seconds
       through a prescribed cycle so that the correction is not constant.

Q:   How old should my dog be before I start training him with the fence?

A:   The Havahart® Wireless Dog Fences are designed for dogs older than 6
       months and weighing more than 8 pounds with a neck size of 14 to 26 inches.
