This pest control product is very effective in killing caterpillars and worms, including corn earworm, bollworm, armyworm, diamondback moth, green cloverworm, hornworms, loopers, melonworm, pickleworm, tomato fruitworm, tobacco budworm, salt marsh caterpillar, mimosa webworm, and imported cabbageworm!
The Safer® Brand Garden Dust with B.t. utilizes bacillus thuringiensis (var. kurstaki) which, once ingested by the wayward pest, kills them within a few days.
It is recommended that this product be applied late in the afternoon or on cloudy days since B.t. breaks down in the sunlight.
When the B.t. is ingested by the worm, it works as a gut rot poison that makes the worm stop feeding. The caterpillar or worm will stop feeding immediately and die within days of malnutrition.
Carefully read and follow all directions on the product's label. B.T. is very specific and only works on caterpillars and leaf feeding worms.
It will not harm beneficial insects, children, pets or wildlife.
It is recommended with any pesticide to test plants for sensitivity to the product. Spray a small section of the plant in an inconspicuous area and wait 24 hours before full coverage.
Application Rates:
Apply Safer Brand Garden Dust when pests are first noticed and repeat every 7-10 days or as necessary. Caterpillar egg hatch can occur over an extended period of time. Monitor treated areas for the prescence of newly hatched pests and retreat if necessary. Thorough leaf coverage is necessary for effective control. After ingesting a treated portion of the leaf, caterpillars stop feeding in a few hours and death occurs in a few days. Apply at a rate of 2 to 3 ounces per 50 feet of row planting.

I sprinkled these granules around my plants and areas where slugs have been seen. The next day no more slugs.
You can use these around vegetable plants, which some other baits you cannot.
I will continue to use these granules.

I love this stuff! I had slugs eating all my strawberries and it was beyond annoying! I sprinkle this around the strawberry pots and I haven't had any problems since! I love that it is safe for pets and other wildlife. it's a good value for the amount you get, has held up well even with the sprinklers running twice a day and is very effective. Definitely worth the price!

My wife and I have a SERIOUS snail/slug infestation out in our yard (Seattle, WA). Been driving us crazy for a while now, since they eat all the plants like nobody's business. Anyway, a nice sprinkling of this at night last week and the munching of the vegetation has been reduced to basically nothing. I was out a few nights ago and saw some slugs on the sidewalk, so I grabbed my container of Slug and Snail killer and sprinkled a few rolls (they look like tiny, solid, pink sausages!) in front of the slug. It went right over to the "killer" and started eating. Gross! Sucking away on it, unaware of its fate...
I feel slightly sick when I read on the label that it destroys their digestive system. Heck, it basically causes the snails/slugs to starve to death. Cruel? Yes. Effective? Absolutely.

I am an organic home gardener - I compost, have a worm bin, grow flowers that attract beneficial insects and have been largely successful with avoiding the use of "products". But this year the banana slugs have been out in force and eating my beans, chard and sunflowers. Dr. T's Slug and Snail Killer works quickly, is easy to use and it's safe around my pets. And my veggies and sunflowers are all doing great!

We like the fact that this product works well. It is easy to use and is an all natural (iron) formulation. The granules do not dissolve in lawn watering or rain and last well. They are safe for pets and since we are organic gardeners we are careful not to destroy beneficials needed to support our eco system. Safe for birds too. We now have no slug problems.

I have tried many slug and snail baits, but this one seems to work the best. I have many clients that have pets, and they are worried to put down baits that may harm their animals. In addition, you can use Dr. T's around the listed vegetables on the container that you are growing. I feel confident that you will like the results. I have been in the horticultural industry for over 40+ years, and I would highly recommend Dr. T's Slug and Snail Killer.

We tried a preparation containing bacillus thuringienesis (Bt) 10-15 years ago to kill grubs in the lawn. It was a failure. I later read that manufacturers were shipping dead preparations. (Bt is a family of bacteria living naturally in soil. The bacteria in the preparation must be live to be useful.) Now (June 2011) we had cabbage worms eating the leaves of our young Brussels sprout plants. Extension services recommended Bt, so we bought this product. It worked! The directions are not very thorough, but the package is a very effective dust sprayer. Shake the package, aim the orifice and give the bottle a good steady squeeze and you get a nice dust spray. Focus on the new buds. Our plants are doing fine without worm damage in the new growth a week after treatment.

Dr T's ST125 Slug and Snail Killer has proved to be a superior product to those I have used in the past. From the first initial use, I have found no slugs near my plants and flowers. I have tried other products in the past and have been highly disappointed, but Dr T's has proved to be a far more reliable product.
