Independent Testing on Mosquito Magnet® Traps
Independent tests have proven that the Mosquito Magnet® is more effective and captures more types of biting insects and mosquitoes than any other mosquito traps on the market. Below is a summary of the studies, with the full tests available for download.
Hawaii, Aug/Sep 2004
Five commercially available mosquito traps were compared. The Mosquito Magnet® with Lurex3™ as the secondary attractant, performed significantly better than all other traps tested for collecting total Culicidae. All Mosquito Magnet® products utilizing Lurex3™ collected significantly more Aedes albopictus than the competitor trap using octenol.
21 Mosquito Magnet® traps were placed along the nature trail in an effort to reduce mosquito populations. The traps had a very significant impact on the mosquito populations on Atsena Otie.
Eight commercially available mosquito traps were compared. The Mosquito Magnet® Liberty and Mosquito Magnet® Liberty Plus, both utilizing Octenol as the additional attractant, performed significantly better than all other traps tested.
Seven commercially available mosquito traps were compared. The Mosquito Magnet® Liberty and Liberty Plus performed significantly better than all other traps tested.
The Mosquito Magnet® Liberty was tested against the Coleman "Mosquito Deleto" and the Applica "Sonic Web." The Mosquito Magnet® captured nearly 200 times more mosquitoes than competing products.
U.S. Army Medical Command, the Centers for Disease Control, Republic of Korea
Field tests of seven different mosquito traps were conducted where recent outbreaks of malaria had occurred. The Mosquito Magnet® captured 3 times more mosquitoes than the next most effective trap, and over 13 times as many as other traps using CO2 and Octenol attractants.
U.S. Coast Guard, Bahamas

This warranty, (1) year from the purchase of the unit, is extended only to the original purchaser/user of products.
Woodstream Corp. warrants its products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the warranty period by the original purchaser/user.

If Woodstream Corp. determines there may be a defect, Woodstream Corp. will issue a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number. The defective unit or parts must be returned for warranty inspection using the RGA number, when applicable, as identification within (30) days of return authorization date. DO NOT return products to our factory without our prior consent, as they, as well as C.O.D. shipments will be refused. Woodstream Corp., at its option, shall replace the unit, replace the defective part(s) and return such unit to you. Woodstream Corp.'s sole obligation and your exclusive remedy under this warranty shall be limited to such replacement.
Limitations and Exclusions:
The warranty shall not apply to problems arising from normal wear, or failure to adhere to the enclosed instructions. In addition, the foregoing warranty shall not apply to serial numbered products if the serial number has been removed or defaced; products subject to negligence, accident, improper operation, maintenance or storage; products damaged by circumstances beyond Woodstream Corp.'s control; or products modified (including, but not limited to modifications through the use of unauthorized parts or attachments) or repaired by anyone other than Woodstream Corp. or its designee.
The foregoing warranty is exclusive and in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, including without limitation the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. It shall not extend beyond the duration of the express warranty provided herein, and the remedy for violations of any warranty shall be limited to repair or replacement of the defective product pursuant to the terms contained herein. Woodstream Corp. shall not be liable for any consequential or incidental damages whatsoever.

We live near a pond and kept getting mauled by mosquitos in the evening. We thought of getting tiki torches like our neighbors have on their deck. As I looked over in the long line of neighbors all I could see was rolling smelly smoke coming from each yard with an average of 6 torches each deck. I heard from a friend about the mosquito magnet and how amazing it was. Being a skeptic I bought it and kept the box and receipt. After a two weeks and four full traps of dead mosquitos I recycled the box and kept what I consider one of my best investments! My wife son and 6 month old were outside for over an hour in the evening without one single mosquito bites! Oh and I forgot to mention it seems to attract and suck up gnats. (My neighbor and I figured out that if everyone in our neighborhood were to get one there wouldn't be any mosquitos on our street and they wouldn't have to spray those harmful chemicals.)

We live lakeside in Haliburton Ontario. 4 weeks ago we avoided going outside at any time - period. With the new trap between the house and dock we now walk to and sit there with almost none of the pests bothering us. The difference is like being this swarmed as this year's American Idol winner or the being the runner up from 10 years ago where nobody even knows you exist.

My wife and I retired to Hilton Head Island two years ago, and we love having our five grandchildren visit to swim in the pool and then barbeque on our deck. We were never comfortable using insecticides and sprays around the grandchildren to control the mosquitoes and the no-see-ums. Thanks to the Mosquito Magnet, the kids are swimming in the pool and I'm grilling all night long.

We are very pleased and are now able to fully use our backyard. It's been really great. For the first time we can sit out on the patio and have dinner, something we were not able to do before. There were mostly gnats in the net. Then the catch suddenly dropped off. That's when we noticed we did not get bitten anymore.

After seeing the Mosquito Magnet at work in several of the Coast Guard Stations, I decided to purchase this machine to help with the problems I was having at home. I thought 'if it can work this good in a coastal, low, marshy environment, it will do wonders at the house'. I am happy to report that it has done better than I thought possible. We can now sit on the deck without being attacked and driven back inside. My hats off to the Mosquito Magnet.

We bought the Independence bundle with Octenol for a property in Massachusetts. We are next to conservation land - lots of trees and mosquitos. The Independence was started in June and was working wonderfully. We could sit outside without any issue. Then, we got fault lights, contacted Mosquito Magnet, took it to a certified repair place, got it back. It worked for a few days and the fan stopped. Called them again, took it to a different location authorized by M.M. Got it back yesterday, stopped working today. I will not buy another one or recommend it. Too bad too because it was really great at the start.
