As usual, Amazon delivered the product quickly. We've used the fire pit a few times. It is a very beautiful fire pit. Though the copper bowl is on the thin side, I'm rather glad because it makes it easier to move around, especially with sand in it. We've received quite a bit of compliments on it. I hope it holds and lasts for a very long time.

Here are the circumstances that make this fire pit work perfectly for our home:
Concrete patio; no wood deck that could catch fire.
Plenty of seasoned oak to burn. No junk sparky wood.
Moderate need for real heat (eastern NC).
The feet on the legs are stable on a concrete surface. Our fire pit arrived as intended, with no transit damage. The screen looks like it will hold up long enough. I need the copper to discolor in a hurry, actually, unlike some people who didn't appear to understand that copper doesn't hold its orange color unless you work your polishing tailbone off to keep it that way. In our neighborhood, copper wire and pipe gets stolen. I don't want passers-by to see that we have a big piece of obvious copper in the backyard. Figure a few more fires will do the trick.
The one downside we noticed on set-up that missed my attention when I selected this product: Rain.
The fire pit is shipped with a fitted vinyl cover, not unlike the kind you get for your barbeque grill. However, the fire pit is smaller than a grill, and low to the ground. My partner put the cover over the fire pit. I looked at it and said, "that's not going to work." He said, "why not?" I gestured toward the dogs (5), who have been known to destroy a car cover, blinds, couches, chairs, etc etc and so forth. Industrious little buggers.
He said, "oops."
So, for now, we are thinking about how to keep our pit covered when not being used. We might could move it into the carport, or simply tip it up on its side, or something. If dog chewing is a problem for your backyard, the cover may not work for you either.
But that's not really the fault of the fire pit; simply something we hadn't considered.

This is a handsome copper pit that doesn't take up too much space in the back yard. The copper develops a nice patina with use. It has a nice look while the fire is going. I've read that the pit cover deteriorates over time but so far it's held out after two months and does it's job after 5 uses. I like covering it up after it cools of course but the cover seems like it may stick around for about a year at best. It would be nice if they included a canvas type of cover since you're not buying a cheap-o fire pit.

This is my second fire pit, and quite different from the previous one. This one is much cooler looking, the copper is beautiful. My previous firepit was VERY heavy, moving it was a 2 person job. This CobraCo pit isn't light by any means, but it's much lighter than the other one. My previous pit also was vented, and had a grate for the bottom. The design of this bowl firepit is very different, and putting sand in the bottom (I suppose because it doesn't have a grate and vents) was new to me. This is much deeper than my other firepit, which I actually like a lot. The fire seems to be more "contained".
Cleaning it after use is kind of a pain if you do put sand in it (and don't want to replace your sand often) but it's manageable. I know other reviewers criticized the quality of the screen and cover. We don't use the screen when the fire is hot (which I think others may) so it hasn't seen any damage yet. But obviously if you put it on while you have a large fire going, it's going to sustain damage over time. The cover is what it is, nylon that will eventually breakdown if exposed to the elements.

I've never owned a fire pit before, so I can't compare this pit to another. On its own merits, though, I like this fire pit. Pit sits low and the stand keeps it off the ground, and I like the level of the resulting fire. Some discoloring of the copper quickly occurred after the first uses, but I guess this is a feature, not a bug. :)
I'm not a huge fan of the wire mesh cover, which seems a bit thin and flimsy and dents easily (like when an errant baseball bounced off of it).

This fire pit looks very nice. I haven't got a lot of use out of it yet, but as the weather gets nicer and we spend more time outside around this fire pit I will update the review. We have not had this very long so I can not comment on any wear so far. It is nice to look at though and I am very pleased with it so far.
