These are AWESOME!!!. We live in cattle country so have LOTS of flies. We hang these about 15 feet away from back doors (have 2) and the flies swarm them. Once they are in, they don't come back out. So far have killed many thousands of flies. Have almost NO flies in the house. The down side is the smell - absolutely awful - like spoiled meat - so have to put peppermint oil under the nose when cleaning them out. Also, you will need to purchase the Magnet Bait mix. We use half what it calls for and have no problem. Highly recommend these.
A GREAT productAugust 19, 2013
We have used this for 13 years around livestock on the small farm. If you keep it active, it reduces flies year over year.

Smells like crap (as it should I guess) but it works like a charm.

These work great, I've filled the smaller bottles up and thought I'd go for the big boy. -2 stars because these things stink so bad. You can't have your cake and eat it too though so +1 star for keeping my back yard relatively fly free. I hate flies so I mostly just like when the trap gets filled up then wave my hand close to the trap and see them scatter but not be able to go anywhere...I love it. This thing easily kills 1000-2000 flies before it fills up...yesssssss.

I was intrigued by the idea of this trap when I saw it, I bought it, and use it. As long as I keep it centralized in the room I use for it, the flies seem to flock to it. I noticed however, that when set in a corner, or out of the main thoroughway of the house, the flies dont seem to notice it. I keep mine in the center of the dining room table as that is where it is needed most. No, it doesn't smell bad, it has almost no smell at all. Yes, it is slightly unattractive to look at as a centerpiece, but yes, it is functional. Saves me lots of time from swatting flies, I have caught so many in my trap, I have only been using it for a week, and it is almost time to empty and change the bait packet, which are super cheap at your local hardware store. There is some maintenance to this product, it does need to be rinsed between uses, and bait needs to be remixed when jar is full. Over all, great product, I love how it does the work for me.
