Directions for Use:
| Print PDF | - Bring to room temperature before opening by holding trap in your hand while making a fist for several minutes prior to attempting to open.
- Grasp cord in one hand; grasp tube in the other.
- Pull out cord slowly while turning tube in a counterclockwise (twirling) motion.
- Cap will pop out. Remove thumbtack from top of cap and save for hanging.
- Discard cap.
- Remove completely from tube or let tube dangle from strip as an anchor. Hang with thumbtack or cord.
- When strip is full or controlling flies is achieved, remove from hanging device and discard.
Note: In case of contact with sticky material, wash hands with soap and water. Avoid placing traps in dusty areas as this will cause the glue to lose it's adhesive qualities. |

We have three horses and despite meticulously kept stalls and paddocks, we still have the fly problem from hell. Living in the high desert, it's not uncommon for anywhere that has ANY source of water and warm, moving flesh to be inundated. We bought a trap that smells like a rotting carcass that is kept about 50 feet from the barn, and it does work, but these fly strips have been AMAZING. We hang them in the eaves of the roof in each horse's area and they fill up pretty quickly. We've noticed a marked difference in the number of flies -- it's probably about a quarter of what it was before the strips. They're not pretty and they're pretty archaic, but I love the fact that we're not poisoning the area our horses are living in.

This works well, I'd recommend it. It's not a miracle worker and you should try to do your best to eliminate whatever is attracting the flies in the first place.

We have a barn with six horses and our barn was about to fly away. Had tried fly sprays, fly predators, etc. etc. so out of desperation decided to try the sticky catchers. Within 24 hours 8 ribbons were full! Didn't have the problem of tearing that other users described....you just can't get in a hurry when unrolling and it helps if the traps are warm. Excellent product and we like the fact that they are safe. Horses are happy too.

It caught six gnats even before I could hang it up. The only downsides are 1) not very attractive and 2) don't let it touch anything, because it will stick to everything.

I was at my wit's end with the spontaneous fly "situation" that has developed in my place. As a) I live indoors; and b) I have pets, I wanted a solution that was non-toxic and non-horrifically-stinky. I found the answer with these Victor fly ribbons, which even come packaged with a thumbtack for you to use to fasten them to the ceiling.
The fly ribbons are ugly as sin--more so when dotted with flies--but they really do work well. I've had great luck trapping both fruit flies and "larger" flies alike. Be careful to avoid touching the sticky ribbon with your hands, as it takes some effort to wash off the goo.

I have four small children who just can't seem to get the concept of shutting a door. Consequently, our house fills with flies and gnats in the summertime. I bought a pack of these at our grocery store and have used them with very good success. I find them easy to install - no ripping (once you know to stop pulling when you get to the end). The tacks work well to hold them in place. They are messy - there's no way you won't get at least a little gooey when installing these.
Once installed, these things just catch flying insects. I have one near the door right now with about 25 flies stuck to it. Very effective.
My oldest was trying to get something over the sink one day and got stuck to one of these (thankfully a freshly installed one), which was my last one in the pack. So off to the store I went. I looked in 4 different stores and couldn't find these again. So my wife bought a different kind. After 5 days, not a single fly was caught. I finally decided to order these from Amazon and pay the shipping.
I docked one star because they could be a little more attractive - kind of ugly hanging there in the living room and kitchen.
Get them, they work.

I noticed the comment in February 2012 saying two birds were caught in the fly trap and had an awful death and the person asking for a warning on the label, and your reply that you would look into it. Well its August now and my little cat got caught in it this morning and I had to cut her out and rush her to the ER to get the glue off her before she ingested it all. How is that label coming along? You are AWFUL people that do not care about the lives of any animals.

Comparing this to black flag it is worthless. I just wasted money on three packs of the Victor. I thought it would be good because of the Victor name. I'm watching flies land on it and take off again. I bought this yesterday at The Home Depot. Went to Kroger today and bought a bunch of Raid brand. The Victor has about a dozen flys and the black flag is coated with them.

| Dear Curt, Thank you for your online review! We are sorry you had a poor experience using Victor® Fly Ribbon. From your description there sounds like there was an issue with the glue adhesive on your traps. Normally the adhesive is very strong and does not allow for flies to escape. Sometimes if these traps are exposed to extreme cold or hot temperatures it can adversely affect the stickiness of the trap. We would like to send you a replacement so you are completely satisfied with our product. Please do not hesitate to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-7-ORGANIC (1-855-767-4264). We will gladly replace your Fly Ribbon. We look forward to hearing from you! |

No where on the pull down tube fly catcher is a warning. The warning should be WILL ALSO TRAP BIRDS. Two poor little birds had a slow & painful death.

I bought the fly catcher this past weekend thinking it would solve the fly problem. We had many guests and our doors were opened and closed many times. I hung them beside the door and guess what? They didn't catch one fly. What a waste of money!

| Dear Josie,
Thank you for sharing your feedback! We are sorry you were not happy with your fly catchers. Please keep in mind if there was significant traffic coming in and out of the door, the flies will not fly onto the traps due to the movement. Traps should have been placed further away to lure the flies to the trap. We are certain if you relocate your Victor® Fly Ribbon you will see much better results.
