I just put one of these out near my bird cages, and the moths are already flying into it. I didn't know what to do - the moths cling to the celing too high for me to reach and it's messy to swat them. I also didn't want to spray any bug killer that could be harmful to my parrots or other pets. Great product that does what it's supppsed to!

These traps look sort of lightweight. BUT, the moths were getting worse, despite cleaning and getting rid of grains in cupboard. I put it atop the fridge in back, under the cupboards, and lo and behold, the first trap caught a bunch of them ASAP. There appears to be a tiny chip of "attractant" that you open and put inside. Which lures them to two patches of very sticky adhesive inside the cardboard trap. So simple and so effective! Found them for a little less than the online price at Home Depot. And of course, no shipping, either.

We had some moths hatch out from a bag of sunflower seeds we were feeding the birds with. Couldn't seem to get rid of them. They were getting into the cat food, cabinets and everywhere. Bought these traps at our local Ace Hardware store. Put them out and within minutes the moths were all over it. These traps really work and work fast.

These traps are absolutely amazing. My family had struggled for months to get rid of these disgusting moths with other methods and to try and find their food source. I found the traps the other night at the store. I have to admit I was skeptical, but I figured I had nothing to lose. I set them up as soon as I got home and the moths came flying. Talk about disgusting, but at least I was able to watch where they came from. The problem is now under control in 24 hours. What a great product.

Two words: Pantry Moths. Good Lord, I could not get rid of them! I keep all my dry goods in the fridge (doesn't leave much room for the items that acually BELONG in the fridge) I have no idea what the little bastards are using for a food source, and with an impending visit from my mother in law, I knew these devils with wings HAD to go! Did some online research and decided on SaferBrand Pantry Moth Traps. Got a 2 pack from Home Depot (and they were actually $2.00 cheaper than the online price) I opened the lure packet and BAM! 4 moths flew right into my lap! Placed the traps strategically as directed, and I'm thoroughly enjoying watching the moths get trapped, flutter all around in vain, then eventually die long and what I hope are EXTREMELY painful deaths. Thank you Safer Brand! Now can you make a trap for my neighbor's incessantly barking dogs? That would be great....

Last year we had moths come from food stored in our garage. They came into our house and they were everywhere. Put one of these in our garage, one in the closet, one in the pantry. Amazing little device lures the moths then they get stuck. You'll see the results as they fly in! I'm ordering more because they can be hard to find and I want to be ready if I need them this year!

I noticed the moths hovering in my pantry this morning. Seems like they show up annually no matter how I package my foodstuffs. I remembered reading about your product online a while back and decided to try it out. Nothing ventured... WOW! The minute I opened the attractant a moth was right there. I hadn't even attached it to the trap. Right away I counted five more hovering. Must be strong pheromones! I left the trap on the table to catch them and in five minutes, when I went back to put it in the pantry, all six were stuck. I would not have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself. The claim is that it works up to 6-months. I'll let you know how it holds up in the long run.

Put a Pantry Pest trap in our kitchen, and in short order it had caught a dozen of these annoying little moths, more moths than I thought we had. This is a whole lot less work than trying to find and dispose of every breeding site. That stuff that attracts these moths to the sticky spot really works!

After bringing a cardboard box home from my mother in law's house I started noticing these disguisting little moths flying around my kitchen-just like at her house. Over the period of a few weeks there are more and more! I searched online, saw the ad for your product and off I was to the local hardware store. Within an hour of setting it up there are multiple repulsive moths in the trap. THANK YOU!!! After seeing these results I feel confident my problem can be solved, and at a value price as well. Thank you very much for such an effective product, readily available, safe and easy to use, at a reasonable price, that rids your home of such an awful nuisance.

Over time ( a few years) I found my home had become INFESTED with moths. At first i WOULD see a few, kill them Manually, and thought they had just come in the screen door.
One month ago, I finally woke to the fact that they were out of control breeding and no spray would kill them. I then educated myself on these moths and how to get rid of them. I found your product. So effective that as I opened the pheromone packet, moths were dive bombing me. (Yes, horrible feeling). Within minutes of laying out the trap, moths were fighting to go in first. Very effective.
Would make one suggestion, make the sticky strip larger, as it filled so fast there was no room for more. Thank you for an excellent product. I am fast on my way to being moth free!

I am thoroughly amazed by the ease of use and effectiveness of this product and would recommend it to anyone with a moth problem looking for a safe, chemical free solution.

We've had a problem with Indian Meal Moths infiltrating our packaged foods for about a year now and it wasn't until our pest inspector recommended phermone traps did we know how to control them. We just installed two of the traps in our pantry and already there are results. We are very pleased with your product.
We were also told to freeze our bird food and place other food items in hard plastic containers to deter new bugs from infiltrating our packaged goods. I hope this helps others with the same problem.

Your moth trap is amazing. A friend recommended it to us and after I had opened the pheromone packet, but before I had placed it in its spot, the darn things were flying around me like I was a big giant female moth. After I had put it in a good place, I could literally watch them fly to it and get stuck. I kid you not.
When my wife walked in the door with it they were all tucked away napping, I guess. But as soon as I opened the packet, there were about 8 of the darn things trying to get jiggy with it. I almost felt sorry for em',.. poor fellas. It's kinda lika the same as humans. Hooked.

I had no idea what these little moths were but they took over my home. They came in with the pet food; bird seed, hamster seed, etc and even invaded our cupboards. The infestation was unbelievable and the exerminator didn't help at all. I put feed in plastic containers, added herbs supposed to repell bugs, bought small quantities of feed, and even tried puting the feeds in an outdoor shed... nothing worked. You know it has gotten out of control when you start chasing them around with a vaccume! lol
Then one day I was at a new pet store and the clerk showed me these little traps. I was doubtful, but they worked. With in a couple weeks the bugs were almost completely gone. We still occassionaly bring home bugs in the feed... but they are quickly caught and kept under control by the traps. Now I keep one in the shed with the pet feed, and another in my pantry - I only change the trap when the pheremone is phased out b/c they never fill up anymore! THANK YOU.

I have had great results with this product. Those who say they work for a while and then quit need to remember that the traps are only meant to catch flying stages of the insect. I use these traps once or twice a year, whenever I see a moth or two, once the infestation problem has been solved.
1) Use Pantry Pest Traps to eliminate all ADULT moths.
2) Next, go on a larva hunt (in the early stages they look like caraway seeds -- dark little crescent shapes about 1/8" long). Check all the food in your cabinets. Take it all out. Anything can house larva. Look in the flour, cereals, boxes, bags, anything with a seam or crevice. Think like a mother -- she is trying to hide her young so that they will survive!
3) We have a pantry cabinet with adjustable shelves. When moths kept coming back, I got a flashlight and discovered that there was larva in every single hole for the shelf brackets. Swabbing the holes with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol produced mixed results, so I finally placed a piece of tape over each hole. If the larva survived the alcohol, they starved to death in their little cell.
Using this method, I buy traps when moths come in with the groceries. I use canvas shopping bags that I wash every now and then so that the bags from the store (especially paper bags) don't bring in larva.

We had been plagued with pantry moths for MONTHS, and were getting at our wits ends. They were everywhere! I checked every food item we had and threw some away, cleaned the cupboards, but nothing I did even put a dent in the amount of moths we had.
When I found some information online about these pantry moth traps, I then came here to Amazon to read the reviews. I was torn after reading that the newer versions were said to not work, but I was also desperate.
When I received this, I set up one of the traps in our kitchen on top of one of the hanging cabinets, and was amazed that in only about a week, our problem was solved! I wish I would have tried this at the beginning and saved us a LOT of stress.
I would HIGHLY recommend these traps to anyone... they work!

My parents are pack rats and they don't throw away many things ... because of this they have expired dried food ... so every time I go home their house is like a moth farm. Moths were flying in my face, near my food ... they were just everywhere.
I bought a couple of these traps and put them up near their food source (flour, grains, crackers, cereal, etc.) and hoped that they would help. A month later my parents called and told me how great the traps were ... they were very thankful. I didn't know how effective these traps were until I visited my parents' home again .. I did not see one moth!
Very impressed .. and I would recommend this product to anyone.

If your pantry is inundated with moths (or weevil-types) - this trap will take care of the moths that hatch after you clean out your pantry. With the long life cycle that these pests have - you need something to catch new ones.
Even if you clean out your food and put everything kept in storage containers there may still be some rogue eggs (you would be amazed at what these pests like to lay their eggs in!) I found eggs in clean brown lunch sacks. It wouldn't even be unreasonable to use these traps before you have a pest problem. Very safe!

After discovering disgusting little worms (moth larvae) in my grains, cereals, and really just about everything else in my pantry, we did a thorough cleaning and threw away every open and/or infested food package.
Upon finding more worms this morning, I went out and purchased your traps. Within ONE MINUTE of placing them in the pantry area, three moths met their demise. ONE MINUTE!
While it's too early to say if the problem will clear up, I am hopeful that any remaining moths will come join their friends on your seemingly miraculous sticky pheromone square.
Bought birdseed and MOTHS ! March 14, 2011
Reviewer: Birdie Momma
I made the mistake of buying birdseed for my indoor birds from a "bulk" bin of a pet store. I also ended up buying pantry moths with the cheaper seed. If you do buy from a bulk bin, please freeze the seed for 48 hours before serving at room temperature. Anyway, we ended up with these moths in abundance. These traps were the best that we have found dealing with this problem for almost a year. We placed two traps in the aviary room and were diligent about cage cleaning and placed all seed and bird food in air tight containers. After 4 months of good practice, I think we have beat this problems. The key is keeping all seed and "pantry" products sealed while you kill off the q.

We were plagued by pantry moths. We tried everything from fly paper to mothballs- nothing worked. I searched the internet for a solution and found SaferBrands website. I read their detailed description of the moths and the solution they recommended plus their pricing was reasonable. I ordered two twin packs and was trilled as I saw the traps filling up with these annoying pests. Our pantry is not well ventilated and pantry moths will always be an occuring problem as long as one shops in stores and carries grocery bags home. The double set of twin packs kept the moths away for nearly one year. I saw a winged annoyance buzzing through the pantry door the other day- it's time to reorder then our moth problem will be over.

At work, people like to keep snacks in their desk drawers. At least once a year somebody brings in in something infested, and we wind up with moths futtering throughout our cubicle area and infesting everyone else's snacks. Occasionally we can't even find the source of the infestation. I just put out a few of the traps and over a month the problems slowly goes away as the traps gets filled to the point where no more "sticky" is exposed.
We have a bird at home, and bird seed is another problem source. I keep one next to the bird seed and another in the kitchen. Again, this keeps my food clear of moths.
A WORD OF WARNING: Don't put TOO many traps out. If there are a lot of traps wafting pheremones all over, the moths won't know which direction to aim for.
Great Product, Packaging Can Be Improved October 30, 2005
Reviewer: Mehetabelle
No question, this is an effective product. Using pheromones [sic.] to attract moths then trap them with sticky paper appeal to my love of science and technology.
Today, the product is already folded into a triangular house for the moths to fly into. The interior is coated with adhesive so the moths become trapped after entering the house. Users must removed a pheromone-infused tab from a sealed package, then insert the tab into a slot to get it inside the housing. But almost always, the tab falls out of its intended spot and is stuck to the interior. I've used it this way and it seems to work fine, but the manufacturer can help users by making three changes in the way they package the product.
1. make the little pheromone-infused tab already correctly positioned and attached to the interior so that users don't have to open the sealed package and handle the tab.
2. They should cover the whole item, including the sticky paper, with wax paper, score where the folds go, and indicate how to fold it into the housing shape. Then users would just have to peel the whole wax sheet off to expose the sticky paper and the pheromone tab, fold it up, and voila, done!
This way, the manufacturer can also save on packaging by shipping the items in a flat envelope rather than a mostly empty box.
3. Make the sticky housing attachable to something so it doesn't knock around my pantry. This can be as simple as a hole to hang it on a nail, or a weak adhesive like that used on Post-it notes to attach the trap to a wall.

Really the worst instructions of a simple product that I have EVER seen. "remove the lure from packet, slide under "top flap" Do you mean the little red lure has to be slide under the "bottom" flap with the arrows. If I did that it would fall out the rough hole. Why don't you just say drop the red lure through the round hole so it lands on the sticky surface on the side of the triandle. Something that simple!! What a waste of time having to do to the internet, and when I typed in the product name, there was NO MATCHES. I bought 4 of these from my local hardware store for $8.00 each and felt ripped off, seeing that you sell them for 1/2 that price.

RESPONSE FROM SAFERBRAND

"Thank you for taking the time to submit an online review for the Safer® Brand The Pantry Pest® Trap. We appreciate your feedback and apologize that the product has not worked for you thus far. The product emits a pheromone which attracts the male moths; when they are captured the breeding cycle is terminated. However, it is important that only one trap be placed per room. If multiple traps are located in the same room, the male moth becomes confused and will circulate between the multiple traps trying to locate the “female”. It is important for us to understand the trouble you experienced in detail. Please contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-7-ORGANIC (1-855-7674264) so we can help. We look forward to working with you! "
Both the lure packets were stuck inside one of the traps. Had to peal them out and the instructions were vague as to what the lure was and where it was located. I finally cut the bags with a pair of sissors and got my fingers and sissors all sticky from the gummy stuff on the outside of the packets. Either not packed right or poor design.

Yet the moths are kickin' back on the pantry door, the wall, fluttering around the kitchen! It's insane! btw, I'll totally clean out my pantry this weekend and find the source of those buggers but the traps are empty. Perhaps these are pheromone free? Perhaps it's a bad batch? Perhaps these moths came from Mongolia and have different noses? Just my two cents.

Thank you for the recent online review you submitted for the Safer® Brand Pantry Pest Trap (model # 05140-2).
Safer® Brand Pantry Pest Trap (model # 05140) uses pheromones to attract and trap male moths. The pheromone lure lasts up to 3 months. A common issue consumers run into when using these traps is using more than one trap in your pantry area. If you have multiple traps in your pantry it will confuse the male moths resulting in fewer catches. If you are only using one trap and still your trap is not attracting moths, the lures in your trap may need to be replaced. Also, for large moth infestations you may want to consider additional methods of insect control to quickly break their breeding cycle, we recommend Safer® Brand Flying Insect Killer Aerosol (model 5710) which will kill moths on contact. Please provide your telephone number so we can contact you at your convenience to discuss your concerns, or please feel free to contact us at the following:
