Directions for Use:
| Print PDF | - Hang clothes moth traps at eye level in closet and rooms to be protected. Pay special attention to items containing wool, cashmere, or other animal hair.
- Use one or two clothes moth traps for an average size room. Too many traps in one area may confuse the moth and make the trap appear to not work properly.

Unfortunately, it indicated I needed to throw out two wool rugs, because no matter how much we cleaned them & the house, and no matter how much moth spray and flakes we used, the moths kept coming back. I'm just glad I didn't waste any more money trying to "fix" the problem, so this clothes moth trap saved me a bundle.

This Safer Brand Moth Alert Trap really works! I knew I had a moth problem, but had no idea how bad it actually was until I saw how many moths were caught by these traps

I have several Navajo wool rugs on the floor so I am very concerned about moth. I had an expensive special Pendleton blanket in a box with what the seller said was moth repellent.. I discovered that it was eaten away afyter several years of storage. I bought these traps and put several in each room. After several months, I checked them and they were all filled with moths.. Conclusion? It does work.. I have been using them for several years.
Very highly recommended along with the herbal repellent packets.

I purchased this product after hearing about it on NPR's "You Bet Your Garden." I was noticing holes in woolen clothing in my closets and drawers. I use these traps in the closets and cedar blocks in the drawers. The traps are effective in catching male moths and presumably preventing breeding, but the harm to clothing is from the larvae, so my understanding is the traps won't eliminate an existing situation but will prevent future harm by stopping the reproduction cycle. I've been replacing them every three months in my closets, as instructed and haven't had a problem since I started using the product about 8 months ago. I intend to continue using them and have encouraged friends to use them also. I like the fact that, unlike moth balls, they are non-toxic.

These traps are part of a program of integrated pest managemnt...ipm. They are doused with pheromones from female moths so that they attract male moths and break the breeding cycle. They work extremely well on that part of the process. In fact, the minute you open the little package with the trap male moths start fluttering at you like drunken frat boys! The second part of the program involves repelling the moths from their furry dinners. Lavender, bay and cedar in a closet help. Bagging sweaters over the summer will also help. Being green really is not easy. It takes extra steps and some research. This is the way natures works. We have killed off whatever the predator was for the moths so now we have to figure out how we can manipulate the cycle. If you think about it, however, the moths are actually kind of a good thing. If it weren't for these hair/fur eating creatures the earth would be a giant hair ball hanging in space. Now if safer would only make traps for those annoying people who drive thru my neighborhood with blasting stereos I would be a happy woman!

I have kept pet parrots for over 20 years. The parrot mix bird seed that I buy for them occasionally spreads moths when the larvae hatches. Even freezing to kills to moth larvae, doesn't always stop them. The only solution to those moths that are produced and infest the house is to set up the ~Clothes Moth Alert~ packets. They are safer than spraying dangerous chemicals around my famly and birds. And THEY WORK! Even if you don't have birds, they are well worth the small investment to keep your home moth free.

This worked like a charm. The product attracts the male moths with a female scent and traps them on the sticky paper! Thus, there are no males for breeding! Worked like a charm to rid us of these pests!

These moth traps really work. I had a serious infestation of clothes moths in my apartment when I took my grandmother's wool coat out of my closet and released a bunch of moths accidentally. These few moths bred and then I had a moth problem. I didn't think I could get rid of them. You have to give the product some time to work. I set out 7 traps in my apartment. I saw moths being caught little by little over a period of a few weeks. I probably caught 60+ moths in these traps. I think I finally have my apartment back under control with the help of these traps and extensive vacuuming and cleaning.

Great product, this is my second "set". replace very 3 months. Catches them everytime, highly recommend. Never had moths before in my life and very difficult to find products for the "clothes" moth vs. the "pantry" moth.

I have used these for years. They don't totally rid you of moths, but I don't want to use poisonous sprays around the house. They will capture the male moths so it prevents lots of future eggs/larvae that will eat your clothes.
It's just unfortunate those males had to come from the larvae that DID eat your clothes. Use other methods (freezer/dryer) to kill those.

Several years ago, we discovered moths had eaten the fabric and hair in some valuable Eskimo artwork, and also eaten into many of our southwest native American wool rugs thoughout our house. We started using these moth traps, changing them out every few months as recommended. We 'collected' many moths over the next several years, but we rarely see them anymore. Wish we'd known about the problem and solution before we lost some of our artwork. For all the artwork saved since then, thank you.

The only product I ever found that actually helps to collect those pesky moths that eat through clothing and rugs.

I grew up with rank-smelling mothballs, and now have a multiple cat household. I wanted a more natural product. I definitely have clothes moths, not the pantry version. I had just peeled a new trap from its package, and a moth came out of hiding to circle around me. The bait was easy to drop into the glue hut. I find the traps with many moths in them. The down side is keeping them in stock and replaced per instructions. My moth population was way down within a week; not certain if this will bring it to zero. Never the less, I prefer this slower method over the idea of a film from sprays and bombs everywhere I touch.

I just opened the packets of lure, put the lure in the trap and turned around to choose a spot for it, when out of the closet fluttered three little moths right at me following the lure to the other side of the room! I had already brushed, washed and dry-cleaned everything, dusting and vacuuming and removing the vacuum bag, and here these little guys still are.
Maybe this will be a five star review when the traps are full...too soon to tell.

We've used the "Safer" Moth Traps over a few years and consistently find that they attract and fill up with a noticeable number of adult moths. The aromatic lure is advertised as lasting 12 weeks. I believe the larval moths do the damage but our hope is that we reduce those numbers by trapping the adults before eggs are hatched. The product seems worth the price and effort.
