This 16oz Concentrate will make 6 gallons of OMRI Listed® insecticidal soap to eliminate soft-bodied insects. One bottle makes the equivalent of 24 Ready to Use bottles!
WOW, that is a HUGE value.
The ability to use this organic insecticidal soap in your home and in your lawn or garden makes it the most economical and convenient solution to pest annoyances available on the market!
The Safer® Brand insect killing soap utilizes the power of potassium salts of fatty acids (insecticidal soap). The potassium salts weaken the insect's waxy protective outer shell. Apply every 7-10 days when insects are present or as needed to prevent further damage.
Safer® Brand Insect Killing Soap is highly preferable to chemical pesticides, which possess toxins that can kill beneficial insects and cause long-term detrimental effects on the environment. Another negative effect of chemical pesticides is the fact that insects can possibly build up a resistance to the chemicals in the pesticides.
Unlike traditional synthetic chemicals, Safer® Brand Insect Killing Soap breaks down into its natural elements within 7-10 days, leaving no residual impact on the environment.
OMRI Listed® and compliant for use in organic gardening. Using insecticidal soap solutions in your garden provides you with effective aphid control, mealybug control and an overall pest free organic garden.

This stuff kills all sorts of aphids and malathion-resistant whiteflies. The best part is that you can harvest the same day, because it's non-toxic. You can rinse it off easily, if you find the taste disagreeable. And that's the bad part. It washes off instantly with rain or overhead irrigation, unlike systemic pesticides.

I bought this a few months ago along with some neem oil when I noticed some thrips and springtails on my African Violets. I took care of them at first using the neem oil in the soil and picking off the bugs with a q-tip drenched in alcohol and didn't notice them for awhile. Long story short I ended up moving along with my African Violets and herb sprouts and seedlings about a month ago, got busy and forgot about the bugs. A day ago I noticed them all over my violets and not wanting to mess around with waiting on the neem oil since there were just too many to pick off by hand with the alcohol and not wanting them to get to my baby plants, I mixed a small batch of the solution (eyeballing it...I probably got more soap than I should have in there but oh well now it'll get down into the soil too) and sprayed down my violets. All the little springtails, thrips, and aphids (those guys popped up a day or so ago as well) were flushed out and died on contact. I really like this stuff because I own birds and am always leery of anything chemical based, but there was no vapor aside from the spray that fell instantly on the plants and I even stupidly did not wear gloves and ended up spraying my hand while I was holding leaves and flowers out of the way to get all areas of the flowers. My hand is fine after washing it for ten minutes in dish soap as a precaution and my violets don't seem to mind the soap didn't burn, wilt, curl, etc. I'll be using this stuff in the future anytime I have an issue with bugs that I can't deal with by manually pulling the annoying little things off my plants. Glad the companies finally got with the program and made something actually safe to use indoors for a change!

Although we haven't had a chance to use it yet as we live in the north country, I've used it before and have always had excellent results.

We had fuzzy white things killing our trees. I bought this and used last summer. The fuzzy things were gone the next days. I should have used it earlier.

I purchased this as a gift for my daughter, she is new to gardening. I have always used this for insects in my gardens with very good results. I like it because it is approved for organic gardening, which is what I do and she will be doing as well.

Works great on squash bugs!August 04, 2012
This is the first organic product I have found to deal with squash bugs. Kills them in less than a minute .I sprayed 10 days ago expecting to have to reapply, but I have only found two bugs since my initial application. Great Product!

Have had lots of squash bugs over the last few years sucking the life out of my squash and other plants. This stuff really kills them after you spray them with it. I didn't want to use poison so tried Safer after I read this particular one killed squash bugs and it does!!

While this killing soap works well, I believe pesticide works better, I actually prefer the faster more guaranteed methods of killing bugs.

I like the idea of an organic pesticide vs chemicals. I mixed this in an empty 32oz spray bottle to use on my vegetable plants. So far it seems to be working well. I wish the mixing directions were more practical. I had to estimate how much I needed for my type of sprayer

Most soap and water mixtures will do the same so I probably won't be spending the money for this again but it does work to keep the bugs off the plants.

This product works much better than homemade versions, and is far more affordable than buying premixed. However, it would be nice if they made the cap as a predetermined measure to make mixing small batches easier.

I have been using insecticidal soaps for mites, scale, and other leaf eating pests. It works well but you have to keep applying and be steadfast about it. However, the upside is its safe for you, your pets, and children.

This product does a good job of eliminating aphids from my roses and fruit trees, and it's much better for people and the environment than traditional pesticides.

Use this on our raspberry plants. It worked a little, but we still had bugs. We may try it agin next year a little earlier.
WORKS BUT....July 04, 2012
Customer service did not know any specific tips for application on lawn. Just followed directions for outdoor use. Misted the lawn first at dusk, then sprayed. White flies were pretty much eradicated with a few applications, but noticed that lawn turned orange/yellow in spots. Called customer service fro help. Got none. Also wish dispensing cup had measurement/concentration marks.
RESPONSE FROM SAFERBRAND

Thank you for your online review for the Safer® Brand Insect Killing Soap. We appreciate your feedback and are happy to see that we were able to help you eliminate your whitefly problem. However we are not happy to see the negative effects on your lawn.
There are most likely 1 of 2 explanations for this occurrence. One is the significant heatwave that most of the country has experienced. This causes your lawn to be warmer than usual and when you apply this product, it can dry out your lawn if exposed in either direct sunlight or a lawn that has experienced strong heat all day long. If this is the case your lawn will recover. The second could be over application due to the sprayer or other application device used. Perhaps the settings were off and it applied too much product.
