My wife and I had been looking for a high-quality birdhouse for a couple of weeks both online and in various stores.

We finally found the Avant Garden H04 Cupola Wild Bird Feeder and it fit the bill perfectly -- from the reasonable price to it's solid metal construction and great American folk-art inspired looks.

There are raised stars on the roof, which is topped off with a rooster. The entire bird feeder is sturdy metal -- no plastic, with the exception of the clear plastic holding in the seed (the feeder can hold about 2 pounds of seed).

We are looking forward to a few years of use and bird-watching enjoyment from this bird feeder. Two thumbs up.

  Good but difficult to fill. February 01, 2012

This feeder is a good heavy grade construction, and is attractive. However, I do not like that I cannot fill the feeder without taking it down and putting on a flat surface. The wire used to hang it runs from the bottom of the feeder, through the roof, and to the top. When you lift the roof, the feeder tilts, making it very difficult to fill.
