OK. No bird feeder keeps all the squirrels away all of the time. But this one comes pretty close. The birds actually get a large share of the seed.
The only problem is that this feeder is too small for large birds. Our grosbeaks do stop to eat a seed or two but they're obviously uncomfortable when they do. The woodpeckers don't even bother to give it a try.
Complain to Perky-Pet. Maybe they'll understand the need for an up-scaled model for our 2X and 3X feathered friends.

Home Depot Review, Keeps squirrels awayAugust 14, 2013
Got it to feed the cardinals, I must my finicky birds in yard. I filled it with cardinal blend bird seed, they fly up to it, sit on the pegs and look at the feed. At least while the birds are still figuring out if they want to use it or not, squirrels eating the feed has not been an issue. I will have to write another review after birds start using.
Home Depot Review, A Finch FavoriteAugust 08, 2013
My family enjoys backyard birding so we like to try out different bird feeders. This one is made of a metal cap and ports and an acrylic tube. The metal cap is secured to the hanging wire so that it slides up and down for easy re-filling. I liked that none of the black-oil sunflower seeds spill out from the ports when I fill up the bird feeder, and the two vertical slits in each port prevents larger birds or squirrels from accessing the seeds. Even though we have already have a finch feeder, the American Goldfinches and House Finches in our yard seem to prefer this feeder. One downside is that the bottom two ports are not parallel with the top two ports, as shown in the photo, but I don't know if that was intentional in the design

The Perky-Pet Squirrel Shield Bird Feeder just might be the trick to deter the squirrels! No assembly required, just fill the feeder with seed. Great design for cleaning and filling. I have tried many products to eliminate the squirrels’ thievery and I think this one has out smarted the squirrels. I would highly recommend this product for the design and durability.
Home Depot ReviewJuly 29, 2013
We currently have many bird feeders keeping our featherd friends very happy. Of course the squirrels are in competition to get at the food. NOT WITH THESE FEEDERS! No matter how hard they try they can not get the food out with their sharp claws or tip the feeder on it's side to let the seeds fall out. I was pleased that the birds took to the feeder almost immediately. We love the three different chambers that can hold three different seeds to keep everyone happy. The plastic is thinner than other feedres. Not sure how many squirrel attacks and winters it will last.
Home Depot Review, A squirrel's worst nightmareAugust 06, 2013
This Perky-Pet Squirrel Shield Bird Feeder has feeder port guards that are pretty cleverly designed-- the local wrens and finches can easily enjoy a snack, but a squirrel would be stymied if it tried to get at the feeder's tasty contents. The guard on each port appears to be large enough to distribute the seeds to birds, but is designed such that a squirrel can't get his snout in far enough to swipe the seeds. That guard, coupled with a metal overhang, prevents the ravenous rodents from ever getting a meal. And I noticed the design also helps prevent a lot of seed dropping/loss from wind, or hungry birds. The only negative I see in this feeder is the thickness of the acrylic tubing-- it's awfully thin, barely enough bulk to withhold the weight of the beefy, well-made ports. That said, I'd still recommend it.
