  Pleasantly Surprised September 24, 2011

I bought this feeder and one w/ a glass globe to replace a Goodwill one I had for a few years. Although I wasn't expecting this to be exceptional since the globe was plastic, I think I actually prefer this one to my other glass one.  The clean up is incredibly easier and the bees don't seem to be as attracted to this one. Most importantly, the hummers actually enjoy this feeder more than the glass one, and everyone who's been to my house asked about it. I put my feeders next to a moonflower vine and this feeder really seems to be the least seen by the bees and most attractive to both sexes of my ruby-throated hummers.

  Difficult August 09, 2012

This is my first feeder with a separate opening for filling. Because I've never had sugar water leak out of a non tube feeder before I filled it and hung it outside. When I looked at it awhile later it was empty. The filing hole is difficult to get tight enough to seal, and once that is tight the water will pour out the flower holes for some reason. After retrying over and over again it stopped leaking. I dread taking it apart to clean it and am concerned about refilling it now!
I haven't had any birds come to it yet, I'm wondering if the white flowers aren't attractive to them? Or maybe there are too many bees.
I love my $2 generic feeder. Simple, a base and reservoir. Never leaks and easy to clean. I wish perky pet made one like that for a reasonable price!

	Dear Sarah,   Thank you for submitting your online review of the Perky-Pet® Funnel-Fill 16 oz. Plastic Hummingbird Feeder (model 162-3). We appreciate your feedback.   When filling this feeder, it is important that the base of the feeder is properly aligned. To accomplish this, align the raised tabs on the underside of the top part of the base with the notches on the top of the cylinder on the bottom half of the base.   Birds are creatures of habit and can take up to six weeks to acclimate to a new feeder. If you have any other feeders, you may want to consider taking them down until the hummingbirds have begun to use the new feeder. Once they have, you can then re-hang the other feeders.   We hope this information has been helpful.
