The Perky-Pet 5107-4 Universal Bird Feeder Pole works fine with my bird feeder. The plastic sleeve sits below ground with dirt and cement packed around it and makes the pole sturdy and stable. Being a sectional pole I was able to adjust the height how I wanted. The bird feeder I used already had pole mount bracket built into the base, so I did not need to use any of the plastic mounting hardware provided with the universal bird feeder pole. So I don't know whether that part of the kit holds up well or not, but the pole is great.

Sturdy. Great for the middle of the lawn - the pole sits down in a buried sleeve, so you pull it out and mow over the area.
