Keeps the gophers from digging under the shed worked great now my neighbors have them as pets Note you do need power to shed to hook it up.

I used it so my tea cup pig could not go into the garden. Worked perfectly with no harm to the pig.
No more digging dogs!May 27, 2014
12 years with my chainlink fence and multi-dog household and finally I got a dog that repeatedly dug out of my fenced yard. I did not want the hassle of training several dogs to an electric collar, nor keeping collars on my playful dogs, so I opted for the Havahart above ground electric fence. All four dogs (65 pounds each) touched the fence with various parts of their body, two screamed, two just looked surprised - and one year later, nobody has even tried to dig out, nor chew on the fence which was also a problem before. The only downsides are keeping grass and weeds from touching the wire and the occasional bag or garbage that blows into the dog's yard and shorts the fence. Even with this little inconvenience, I am thrilled to not have to worry about my dogs escaping and being in danger. Thanks Havahart for a great product!

My dogs are not even interested in my garden any more. I didn't even need to have it on after the first week.

I bought this package when I extended my fence. I cannot comment on the posts that are included within the kit because I was using wooden fence posts with plastic extenders to hold the wire. I use the hot wire to contain my four dogs and it works perfectly. I previously had a higher model number from the same company, but the power was too much for the dogs...it was designed for livestock. This kit provides the right amount of power to contain my dogs that range from 30-100 pounds. Even when they touched it (when it was first installed), they did not scream like they did with my first power unit. This kit provides the enough juice to get the point across to the dogs without the guilt of hurting them.

The Havahart fence was easy to install around the flower area that needed protection. The cat that used the area as a litter box learned on the very first night and has stayed away from there since then. I am going to put another unit around our garden. An absolutely fantastic product!

Super easy to setup. Works well. I recommend this product. It would be nice if it had more than 100' of wire.

We are glad to have this fence. We have a dog that is an escape artist and has driven us crazy for years. I wanted a wireless one, but this was cheaper. My husband set it up in a few hours. It was a little tricky because the wire is a bit hard to work with. We put it in an area with a lot of plants and set it up low to the ground so that it wouldn't be seen. It still works well, my husband occasionally clears away branches and plants from it. We did have to build up our fence a bit (it was only 4 feet high) because the dog was still getting out by jumping over the wire and the fence. I put up some cheap trellis board on the area she was jumping over .... We'd done that before but she just showed through it and climbed over. This time with the electric fence she won't stick around to chew through the trellis so it actually works. Yeah! Now our neighbors like us a bit more :). I gave it 4 stars just because it was a little tricky to set up.

The stakes are set up with wire holes spaced approximately 4 inches apart the full length of the stake and the instructions state to drive the stake at least 4 inches into the ground which in my view does not make for a sufficiently tall fence to deter small animals since the lowest wire must be several inches from the ground to avoid weeds and grass from growing into it and shorting out the current. My solution was to insert an 12" length of lightweight metal plant stake (available at all garden stores) into the stake up to the lowest wire hole and then drive that assembly into the ground.
