Known Breed-Related Health Issues

The most common health concerns for West Highland White Terriers include globoid cell leukodystrophy, Legg-Perthes and craniomandibular osteopathy. Copper toxicosis, cataracts and patellar luxation are less common but still occur within the breed, while deafness is seen occasionally.

West Highland White Terriers have a medium tolerance for hot and cold climates.
