LITITZ, Pa., June 23, 2014 – Havahart® Wireless, the market leader in wireless electronic devices for dog containment, launched a scholarship program for current college students looking to share their love of animals. Based on an essay submission, Havahart Wireless will provide one winner with a cash prize to be used for the fall 2014 semester.
Interested college students will supply a 500-word essay based on one of these three topics: 1) the role of pets in today’s society, 2) the therapeutic benefits of animals, or 3) new laws that could benefit animal welfare in the United States. Applicants may only submit one essay and must be enrolled at an accredited college or university. Incoming freshmen are eligible to enter.
“At Havahart Wireless, we’re committed to the safety and welfare of our four-legged friends,” explained Malory Spisak, Havahart Wireless Category Development Associate. “We see this scholarship as a way to encourage this commitment and enthusiasm for the well-being of animals.” The winning essay will be published and featured in the new Havahart Wireless Learning Center. The Center is an extensive resource of information for pet owners including dog breed profiles, numerous articles on a wide range of topics, dog containment research and product consumer reviews.
College students have until August 11, 2014 to submit their essays and the winner will be announced August 18, 2014. For more information, submission requirements and scholarship eligibility, please visit www.havahartwireless.com/scholarship.
